Panic disorder is a condition, not a disease. Panic attacks are very frightening. They do not usually need medical input and are generally “over-medicalised”. “Feel the fear and do it away” by Susan Jeffers is a good book and available free of charge with a range of other mental health titles at Bracknell Library. In severe cases you may wish to call talking therapies, the local NHS counselling services on 0300 365 2000. Or text “talk” to 07500 915968. There are also a number of private, independent counsellors available, locally (see link under depression). It should rarely be necessary to see a GP unless you are unsure of the diagnosis.
